Sharon Preston taught at Kenton City Schools
Sharon Joyce Preston of McGuffey, Ohio, born on July 27, 1935, to the late Eric and Martha (Basore) Allen, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 27, 2022, surrounded by her family.
On September 6, 1952, Sharon married Irvin L. Preston and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1994.
Sharon is survived by her two children: Stephen L. (Connie Young) Preston of Peebles and Jill (Keith) Oglesbee of Fernly, NV; six grandchildren: William Preston, II, Amber (Brian) Carpenter, Daric (Nikki) Preston, Dustin (Stephanie) Dysert, Preston (Katie) Oglesbee, and Petra (David) Oglesbee Dearnaley; ten great grandchildren: Cecily, Liam, Kayla, Kylie, Aidra, Dailah, Reid, Zohie, Ethan, and Kolton; and her shihtzu companion, Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Bill, Joe, and Jack Allen.
Sharon graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in Education. In addition, obtained a Masters’ Degree from University of Dayton. She taught at Kenton City Schools her entire teaching career. Sharon was an avid reader and a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System for over twenty years. She was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren and had an unwavering faith in God.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to her graveside service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Preston Cemetery, Alger with Rev. James Goldsmith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Public Library and/or WTLW 44 and/or The Fellowship.
