Gary L. Reed worked for Durez Corp.
Gary L. Reed, age 67, of Ada, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 7:46 a.m. at his residence.
He was born on May 15, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to the late Elvin and Betty J. (Rhoden) Reed. Gary married Becky Lynn Burns-Reed on March 15, 1997, and she preceded him in death on October 22, 2014.
Gary retired from Durez Corp, where he worked as a lab technician. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served for fourteen years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Bluffton and a member of the American Legion.
Gary is survived by a son, Matthew (Karlin) Romick of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters: Ria (Mitchell) Montgomery of Rawson and Jenna (Taylor) Powell of Bluffton; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother, Kirk (Karen) Reed of Kenton; and two sisters: Nedra (Brad) Shaffer of Bluffton and Jayna Petty of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Myron Dean Reed, Morris Gale Reed, Doug Reed and Ken Reed.
A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Greg Fox and Pastor Wade Melton officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
