2023 Jefferson Awards will recognize unsung heroes
The 2023 Jefferson Awards Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at the City Club, 144 S. Main St., Lima, Ohio beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The national program recognizes the “unsung heroes” by awarding individuals who give their time and effort, on a volunteer basis, to improve their communities. The national program, founded in 1972, was brought to Lima in 2001.
Eight adults and two youth will be recognized at the banquet. Each local winner will also receive a monetary award for the non-profit of their choice. One winner will be selected to attend the national Jefferson Awards in New York City.
The local Jefferson Awards accepts nominations from a 6-county area including Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Hancock, Putnam and Van Wert.
Sponsors of the local Jefferson Awards include Hometown Stations, The United Way of Greater Lima, The Lima News and Cenovus Lima Refinery.
