AUG 14 MEDIA RELEASE__ The United Way of Hardin County launched its 2025/2026 campaign with the annual Day of Caring on August 15, bringing together 40 volunteers to make a meaningful impact at six local work sites across the county.

The day began with the Kickoff Breakfast, where Zach and Jayna Jansen were proudly introduced as the 2025/26 Honorary Campaign Chairs. The Jensons expressed their excitement about serving the community and leading the campaign, which aims to raise $200,000 to support 13 local partner agencies delivering essential services across Hardin County.

Following breakfast, volunteers dispersed to work sites, including:

• Beatitudes in Ada
• Revitalize Kenton
• Neighborhood Opportunity Center
• Home Run Memorial Park
• The Homeless Shelter
• Kenton Middle School

Projects included painting, landscaping, organizing supplies and facility maintenance—each task reflecting the Day of Caring’s mission to unite community members in hands-on service.

“Our Day of Caring is more than just a volunteer event—it’s the heart of what United Way is about: neighbors helping neighbors,” said Martha Evans-Nau, Executive Director of United Way of Hardin County. “This event sets the tone for our campaign and showcases the power of working together to support the vital programs that serve our community year-round.”

Funds raised during the 2025/26 campaign will help sustain a wide range of services—from youth mentorship and food assistance to shelter and mental health programs—provided by the 13 United Way partner agencies. 98% of all money given the United Way of Hardin County stays in Hardin County.
