Well-known Ada and Hardin County, Ohio, physician Dr. Robert Bradford Love died in Green Valley, Ariz., Jan. 18, 2014. He was born in Westerville, Ohio, on Oct. 13, 1920, to the Rev. James R. and Mildred (Mount) Love. He graduated from Lima Central High School, obtained his undergraduate degree from Otterbein College, and went on to Case Western Reserve Medical School, graduating in 1947 with his Doctor of Medicine degree.

Dr. Love set up his medical practice in Ada, Ohio. He served in the Medical Corps both during World War II and in Korea (better known as a MASH unit). After his honorable discharge from the service, he completed his residency in Riverside, Calif., then returned to his Ada practice where he was responsible for the Emergency Rooms of three area cities.

After retiring from private practice in Ada, Dr. Love joined a group practice at Luke Medical Clinic in Lima, and continued practicing there, still making house calls until he finally hung up his stethoscope in 1996.

Dr. Love was preceded in death by his wife Martha (Bosse), and sister Donna (Lord). He is survived by sister Gwyne (Roger) Anderson of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Jacqueline (Richard) Katzin and Jo Ann Love (Serge) Migdal; grandchildren Alexandra and Victoria (Migdal), and Nicholas Katzin; 1 great-grandson Phillip Katzin; and spouse Leoma (Lee) Jeanne Wittenberg Love.

Robert and Lee were re-acquainted in 1996 when Lee retired from teaching in Arizona and returned to Ada to take a position at Ohio Northern University in the Law Library. 

Robert and Lee were married Nov. 23, 1997, in Robert's country home in Ada. They resided in Ada for several years, and in 1999 they relocated to Green Valley. 

Memorial services will be held at Green Valley Community Church on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Green Valley Community Church Music Fund or charity of your choice.
