The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday October 14, at  noon at McIntosh Center, ONU, Ada. President John Berg called the meeting to order.
Jaime Hall was welcomed as a guest .

In business:
-Treasurer Bryan Marshall updated members on club finances.
-Members approved support for the ReStore Beacon Fund, Christmas Benevolence, and the Head Start program.
-Secretary Bill Fuller reported that we received a gift receipt from Children of the Nations for our donation in August.
-Jeff Schulman put forward a proposal that for speakers books be donated in their name to the local library. The club will consider the proposal.
-The annual Spaghetti Dinner is set for Thursday October 23rd at the Ada High School cafeteria. Serving is from 4:330 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available from any Kiwanis member.
-The club’s annual Halloween Parade will be held on Monday October 27th. Participants will line up at the Ada Municipal Building at 5:30 p.m. The parade will start at 6:00 p.m.

Jamie Hall, Ada Village Administrator, spoke to the membership.

The Village is asking for support of a renewal of the income tax levy in support of maintaining and improving the Village swimming pool. 

The levy covers operating costs, such as salaries of lifeguards and cashiers, and insurances.  The last major renovation was about 20 years ago, so parts of the mechanical system need to be updated. 

The levy will also be used for repairs to the roof, the concrete deck, and the bath house.  The levy will be put to the forward to the voters on the November 4th election. 

This year about 7,500 people (with possible repeat users) used the pool.  People come from all over the area to use the pool.  It costs a person $3 to use the pool for a day, and this fee is less than that charged by other pools in the area.

The Ada Kiwanis meets at noon each Tuesday in McIntosh Center, ONU. Guests are always welcome.
