ONU baseball season preview
The Ohio Northern baseball team will look to utilize its depth and experience this year as it looks to take the next step and challenge for an Ohio Athletic Conference title in under the guidance of seventh-year head coach Gene Stechschulte.
A year after finishing 21-19 overall for its fourth consecutive winning season, and posting a 7-11 record in the OAC and finishing seventh in the conference standings, Northern is primed to be a contender in the OAC race this season.
"The biggest difference for us this season is the options we have," said head coach Gene Stechschulte. "We have a good mix of players that we think can be a difference for us. Last season we were trying to put players in places that weren't their natural fit or position and I think that hurt us a little bit. This year we have a good number of options in most of the position groups."
