Family owned and operated drive-through is 2025 Business of the Year

Four Seasons Drive Thru, 205 N Main St., which is owned and operated by the Rick Hughes family, received the 2025 Business of the Year Award at the February 26 Ada Distinguished Awards.

The award was presented by Linda Mason.

Adriana Hughes told the Ada Icon that the location was formerly an old gas station. In 1997, Rick and Charlene Hughes transformed the building into a drive-through convenience store. Adriana notes this was “a love story” business. Charlene had been a stay-at-home mom and Rick made the business happen.

Now managed by Matt and Adriana Hughes, the store has had over 350 employees. The children of former employees are now starting to apply for jobs.

Four Seasons Drive Thru has remained “very much the same business over the years,” according to Adriana. The drive-through "ice box" sells all kinds of refrigerated products: water, Coke and Pepsi, domestic and craft beers, as well as candy and tobacco. One thing the drive-through no longer sells–which still disappoints customers–is broasted chicken.

Midwest BBQ now uses the drive-through’s kitchen, which is not open to the public.

The store is also a popular place for kids, especially as a source for snacks in the summer. The shop also has bones and treats for "fur babies."

Adriana, who is a chamber board member, says it was a complete shock to be nominated for the Ada Business of the Year Award and that it was cool to see the community’s appreciation come to light.
