Ada has a new home-based business, Faithful Friends Cremations, operated by Patty Griffin. The business opened in July 2026 to provide area pet owners with a convenient and affordable option for cremation services.
Planning for the passing of her own dogs, which include two mastiffs, and experience working at a funeral home gave Griffin the idea to start this business. She says she wishes the idea occurred to her 30 years ago.
FROM FACEBOOK__The Ada Rotary Club enjoyed a presentation by Gene Stechschulte, Head Baseball Coach at Ohio Northern University. Stechschulte gave an update on ONU baseball field construction, discussed his team and answered questions from club members.
Fun fact: Gene pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals from 2000–2002 and prior to that, played in the Cardinals' minor league system.
The next Rotary meeting is Tuesday, September 8 at noon.

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce has sold over 210 vendor spots to line Main Street on September 19.
Organizers note, "Please do not fall for a scammer claiming space is available. We are SOLD OUT! Thank for the amazing support heading into this event. Vendor information will be emailed out starting September 1."
