PANDORA – The visiting Ada High School football team lost its second-place battle at Blanchard Valley Conference rival Pandora-Gilboa 34-14 Friday night, October 18.
P-G seized control by scoring 20 unanswered points on its three second-half possessions to pull away from a 14-14 tie and win.
The Bulldogs fell to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in BVC play with the loss that snapped a five-game win streak. The loss ended any Ada chance of sharing the league title in their first BVC season.
P-G broke a second-place tie with Ada after the win, which kept the Rockets a game behind Liberty-Benton (7-0).
NEW KNOXVILLE – The Ada High School volleyball team lost an epic five-set heartbreaker to county rival Hardin Northern in Div. VII Northwest 3 sectional first round action Thursday night at New Knoxville.
The Bulldogs lost the first set, but then captured the next two in close battles to seize a 2-1 lead. Yet HN rallied to win set four and pulled out the tight, decisive fifth game in extra time, 18-16.
Fourth-seeded Ada ended its season 11-12 after the tough 25-15, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 18-16 defeat.
Two Ada High School senior boys were named to the All-North Central Ohio Soccer Association first team in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.
Senior forward Logan Jolliff scored 27 goals to help lead the Bulldogs to a 13-4 regular season record. He also made eight assists to total 62 points.
COLUMBUS GROVE – The Ada High School girls soccer team lost at tough Columbus Grove 6-0 in Div. V first round sectional tournament play Tuesday evening, October 15.
The defeat ended fifth seed Ada’s season with a very solid record of 10-8.
With the win, Northwest Conference champion Grove improved its record to 15-1-2.
Second-seeded CG advances to the semifinals Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. in Bluffton vs. tough Mansfield Christian (13-1-2). Third seed MC shut out Ashland Crestview 7-0 in their district quarterfinal match Tuesday.

ADA __ The Ada High School football team won its fifth straight game with a convincing 46-18 triumph over visiting Blanchard Valley Conference foe Van Buren to celebrate Homecoming Friday night, October 11.
The Bulldogs improved to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in BVC play with the victory.

ADA __ The Ada High School boys soccer team manhandled Lincolnview 6-0 in the regular season finale Thursday evening, October 10, to commemorate Senior Night in style at War Memorial Stadium.
Ada improved to 13-4 after the commanding victory to finish what is probably the best Bulldog boys regular season in 20 years.
