FINDLAY – The Ada High School boys golf team competed in the first of three Blanchard Valley Conference tournaments on Monday, August 4 at the Findlay Country Club.

The Bulldog linksters finished tied for eighth with McComb at the day-long, 10-team event, which was won by Van Buren with 313 strokes.

Monday was the first of three tournaments which will combine to determine the 2025 BVC boys golf champion. A mid-season tournament will be held Aug. 18 at Hidden Creek Golf Club, with the BVC finale on Sept. 19 at Kalida’s Moose Landing.

DELPHOS__The Ada High School boys golf team lost a close dual match vs. Fort Jennings Tuesday, August 5, at the Delphos Country Club.

FJ nipped the Bulldogs, 201-207.

Ada junior ace Brody Rister tied for match medalist honors by carding a nine-hole score of 44 on the par-36 course. Musketeer Ryan Aldrich also shot a 44.

“We continue to show improvement, we cut strokes from our first two matches,” said Ada head coach Tod Schmidt. “We are moving in the right direction.”

Ada freshman Arden Shook and senior Sam Crawford each shot a 54. Junior Lawson Kingler carded a 55.

Junior Gavin Guyton added a round of 65.

A devastating July swoon has plummeted the once pleasantly-surprising St. Louis Cardinals from a solid wild card position to selling at the July 31 trade deadline after a disastrous 8-16 spell. 

Following a sweep of Cleveland at the end of June, the Redbirds held a season-best mark of 47-38 as they went into Pittsburgh flying high.

FINDLAY – The Ada High School boys golf team teed off its 2025 season at the earliest point ever by competing in the seven-team Arlington Invitational on the Sycamore Springs Golf Course on July 28.

The Bulldog linksters finished sixth at the season-opening event.

Ada junior ace Brody Rister fired an 18-hole score of 87 to finish tied for third individually.

Owen Green of meet champion Arcadia was the meet medalist by four strokes with a score of 83. 

The Redskins posted a team stroke total of 386 to win comfortably by 13 shots.

ADA – The 2025-2026 Bulldog boys soccer team played an alumni squad to a 4-4 tie on a wet field in their annual bout Saturday, July 26, in War Memorial Stadium.

“It was a good game,” said Bulldog head coach Aaron Acheson.

It rained very hard an hour before game time, making the synthetic turf slippery.

Logan Jolliff, who is headed to play for Ohio Northern this fall, scored two goals. Fellow 2025 grad Nathan Williams netted one goal, and Ryan Ulrey added the other alumni goal.

JULY 27 MEDIA RELEASE__Urgent volunteer opportunity: the Ada Soccer Association is seeking volunteer coaches for 2 fall teams – one is a U10 Coed (all boys) team, and the other is a U12 Coed (all boys) teams. 

Please don’t be deterred if you don’t have experience with soccer, you can be set up with coach to teach you the basics, give ideas on how to run practices, and drills that would be beneficial. It’s a short season and coaches make their own practice schedules.
