ADA__The undefeated Ada High School girls soccer team dominated visiting Delphos Jefferson in a 6-0 win on Thursday night, August 28 in War Memorial Stadium.
Streaking Ada improved to 6-0, the best start in program history, with its third consecutive shutout. The Bulldog girls tallied three goals in each half.
Sophomore Emily Shanks scored a goal in both halves to pace the victors.
DJ fell to 2-2 after the defeat. Ada has outscored its opposition 32-2 this season.
MILLER CITY__The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season 1-0 at Miller City in a battle of unbeatens on Wednesday, August 27.
The Bulldog boys fell to 2-0-1 with the close defeat. MC improved to 4-0 after the victory.
The Wildcats scored the game’s only goal in the fourth minute and made it stand up over the next 76 minutes to win the defensive struggle.
“We committed an early error and they capitalized on it,” said Ada second-year head coach Aaron Acheson. “That was the difference.
The Ada High School football team travels to face non-league rival Waynesfield-Goshen in the Tiger home opener this Friday, August 29.
The local foes last met in the 2021-22 season-openers, when W-G beat a rebuilding Ada squad, 42-12 and 28-0.
Each team made the Div. VII playoffs last year, but both lost in the first round as W-G finished 7-4. The Tigers fell 40-38 in triple overtime to Upper Scioto Valley, while Ada beat the Rams 15-14 in the 2024 opener before USV reeled off nine victories to win the NWCC title.
BELLEFONTAINE – The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team stayed unbeaten with an 8-0 blowout win at Calvary Christian on Tuesday, August 26.
Ada raced to a 7-0 halftime lead and cruised to the lopsided win.
The Bulldog girls improved to 5-0 with the non-league road victory.
The fledgling Calvary Christian program fell to 1-1 after the loss.
“We had a good night,” said fourth-year Bulldog girls head coach Doug Dewese. “Lots of goals in the first half, so we concentrated on a different formation and ball movement in the second.
HARROD__The Ada High School golf team won a close dual match over visiting Pandora-Gilboa at the Colonial Hills Golf Course on Monday, August 25.
The Bulldog linksters defeated the Rockets, 204-210. Ada was led by junior Brody Rister, who earned match medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 39.
Ada improved to 2-1 in dual match play with the win. Winless P-G fell to 0-4 after the defeat.
