Mark your calendar and buy your tickets for the annual Ada Kiwanis Club Pancake and Sausage Day. The meal will be served from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, in the Ada Schools cafeteria.

The cost is $7 pre-sale and $8 at the door for the all-you-can-eat meal. Children 10 and under are free.

Spring program at ONU observatory

The Ohio Northern University Observatory will be open to the public on Friday, March 22 from 9 - 11 p.m. to observe the Vernal Equinox, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This event marks the astronomical first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

The precise time of the equinox is Wednesday, March 20, at 5:58 p.m.. EDT, but the night sky will be the same on March 22.

At The Inn at ONU from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Ada Area Chamber of Commerce invites Icon viewers to a chamber "mix and mingle" on Wednesday, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.

The after-hours free event is from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, at The Inn at ONU.

There will be door prizes and refreshments in this "come and go as you please" event. Persons wanting additional information may contact Curlis at [email protected] or by calling 419-788-9459.

The Ada Icon is the mix and mingle sponsor.

GatherINN to Fireside Friday at The Inn at ONU. Each Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Inn offers live music. You may order food and drinks from the pub or check out The Inn's evening dinner club.

The Ohio Northern University African Student Association will hold its first-ever African Gala, from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at King Horn Center, according to Amara Egbujor of the association.

The evening celebrates African culture, clothing, music and dance. The evening includes music from Afro Beats, and authentic African snacks and entrees will be served.

Attire for the evening will be formal. The theme is black and gold.

Admission is $10 or $8 for ONU students/staff. You can purchase tickets in McIntosh Center, or via Venmo or CashApp.

Central Collection Agency reps will be in Depot

Representatives from Central Collection Agency (CCA) will be on site at the Depot on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  The representatives will provide assistance with Village of Ada income taxes. 

The village contracts with CCA to assist with the management of collection of income taxes.
