Agatha Christie classic performed by the Ada HS players

Who is the most widely published author of all time, outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare?

Answer: Agatha Christie, whose most popular murder mystery will be presented by Ada High School players on April 20-22.

“And Then There Were None” will be staged in the school auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday that weekend. Tickets, available at the high school office, are only $5.

An afternoon of gospel music

McIntosh ballroom, Sunday, 4 p.m.

The Ohio Northern University Gospel Ensemble will present its annual spring concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, in the McIntosh Center ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.
 
Guest conductors for this year’s concert includes former Gospel Ensemble members who have shared their talents in various music ministries. Guest musicians include Christopher Jordan, Casanova Green and David Williams, the son of a founding member of the ensemble.

Varsity Singers will perform

The Varsity Singers competition show, performed during school year at many invitationals, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in the Ada Schools auditorium.

Turkey vultures soar at Oakwoods Nature Preserve on April 2

What are those giant dark birds soaring in circles overhead? 

They are turkey vultures—very important, graceful and clean wild residents in our northwest Ohio sky. Find out about these valuable helpers during “Discovery Stories: Turkey Vultures” at the Richard S. “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve on Monday, April 2.

 Hancock Park District’s Katie Mehlow will read a story and play a game to see if you can smell as well as a vulture. 

Children ages three to five with an adult, as well as other aged siblings, are welcome to attend programs at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. “Discovery Stories: Turkey Vultures” is free and registration is not required.

Juvenile diabetes walk/run planned

There will be a 3K walk/run for juvenile diabetes at ONU on Saturday, April 14. Organizers of the event invite local businesses to set up tables to sell their products. Leaders of the run/walk also encourage local residents to form teams to donate to diabetes research.

The walk, hosted by the Professional Association of Women in Science in partnership with ONU Healthwise, will begin at 2 p.m. at King-Horn Gym. It will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
