Rep. Cross will be at Ada library on Friday

State Representative Jon Cross (R-Kenton) has district office hours Friday, March 15, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Ada Public Library. 

“It’s very important to stay connected to our communities and to the people of the 83rd district. I want to thank our libraries for allowing me to host office hours to meet with and assist constituents with state needs and discuss public policy,” he said.

The 83rd Ohio district includes Hancock, Hardin and (part of) Logan counties.

Bath Invite champs

Ada High School won this year's Bath Invitational Quiz Bowl held at Bath High School. Ada finished undefeated in the tournament, besting Bath A, 8-3; Bath B, 10-3; Bluffton, 8-6; Crestview, 8-6; Elida, 9-6; Paulding, 10-3 and Van Wert, 7-4.  Pictured are team members (front, L-R) Miranda Wills, Rob Allison, Audrey Hazelton and Theo Hardesty. Christopher Wren 1960 - 2019

Christopher A. "Chris" Wren, 58, died at 8:03 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at his residence. 

Chris was born April 24, 1960, in Lima, to Gary and Trudy (Sellers) Wren. On Sept. 21, 2013 he married Carla Sue (Tibbs) Wren who survives in Bluffton, Ohio. 

Chris was a 1978 graduate of Bath High School. He retired from Time Warner Cable after 30 years of service.

ONU women's and men's tennis teams return from break with winning records

ONU women’s tennis team was in California and the men’s team in South Carolina over spring break. Here’s an update on both team’s play last week.

WHITTIER & TORRANCE, Calif. — Senior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) surpassed the 100 career victory plateau and posted a 4-0 record Thursday, guiding the Ohio Northern women's tennis squad to 8-1 and 7-2 wins over Rio Hondo (Calif.) CC and El Camino (Calif.) CC, respectively, to conclude the program's 2019 Spring Break trip.

Ochsenhirt is now 101-39 in three seasons at Ohio Northern after transferring from Mississippi College following her freshman campaign.

ONU softball and baseball teams have tuned up for the spring season after a week of play in Florida. Here's a Florida update.

PLANT CITY, Fla. — Junior catcher/infielder Gabby Stewart (Union, Ky./St. Henry) became the 39th player in Ohio Northern softball history to eclipse the 100 career hit mark Thursday afternoon, leading the Polar Bears in a heartbreaking 10-9 loss to Penn St.-Behrend and a six inning, 14-2 loss to WPI (Mass.) in the 2019 Sunkissed Games.
