Ada HS homecoming approaches - here are some details

Midget football team and cheerleaders planning 4th annual Cancer Walk

Ada High School students are beginning to think about homecoming. Here's of this this year's details from the school website.

STUDENT COUNCIL-HOMECOMING: Guest request forms are available in the high school office for the Homecoming dance, Oct. 1.

If you are planning to bring a date that does not attend Ada High School, this form needs to be filled out and returned to the high school office by Sept. 30, by 3:30 p.m.

Also, tickets will not go on sale until Sept. 26 and school fees will need to be paid before a ticket can be purchased.

ONU student Julya Faulkner earns inspiration award for her life of impact

She used adversity she faced to make impact on others

Ohio Northern University graduate student Julya Faulkner, BSBA ’16, has used the adversity she has faced to make an impact on others. Accordingly, she recently received the Beta Alpha Psi Medal of Inspiration Award.

Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor organization for accounting, finance and information systems students. The Medal of Inspiration recognizes students who have overcome hardships to achieve a high level of success and is sponsored by the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA). The award includes a $5,000 stipend.

Pandora corn maze and cider press open through Oct. 30

Just when you think they run out of ideas, the Suter corn maze opens with something so complex you wonder if you could ever escape.

The corn maze and Morning Star Cider Press are located at 8250 Road R, Pandora.

Suter's 2016 corn maze theme is "Twists and Turns in Transportation." That means there's a:
• Steam locomotive
• Ocean liner
• Race car
• Semi-truck
• Helicopter
• Jet
• and, yes that's blimp in the top left-hand corner.

Let's sing and move!

Following directions while singing is a fun way to learn. Students at the Ohio Northern University Child Development Center seem to enjoy doing that during a music and movement time earlier this week.

Next Alger community breakfast Oct. 1

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a country-style breakfast on Saturday, Oct., from 7 to 11 a.m., at the Alger Social Center.

Serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage. Suggested donation is $7. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available.
