How much mulch do you need? The Ada Lions now taking orders

Ada Lions Club launches its biggest fundraiser of the year and you can dig it.

It’s the club’s annual mulch sale. While the sale starts May 7, club members are taking orders now.

All proceeds go to the club’s scholarship fund. Since 2000 the club has awarded $61,000 in scholarship money as a result of the sale, according to Chad Hays of the club.

Here’s the details:
Mulch can be picked up Saturdays after 8 a.m. at Bass Trucking 0410 State Route 81, Ada. Deliveries are available on Saturdays only.

Mulch cost:
• Brown mulch: $30 per Bobcat scoop

• Black mulch: $35 per Bobcat scoop

Lincoln Highway featured at April 13 CIC

Ada's April CIC meeting features a presentation by Michael Hocker. He will discuss the Lincoln Highway.

The meeting is at noon, Wednesday, April 13, in the Dean's Heritage Room, McIntosh Center.

For one shining moment, the world came together...at a multicultural fair at ONU on Friday evening.

Here, Shishir Yadav (left) of Nepal and Aron Hagos of Eritrea stand before many colorful flags, the flags representing the 25 countries which ONU students call home.

Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake a year ago; Eritrea borders Ethiopia. Both students are in Ada to get advanced law degrees.

Results of Ada caboose refurbishing study revealed on April 11

For several years, the caboose in Railroad Depot Park has needed painting and refurbishing. Now, after extensive study, the upgrade may be at hand.

Mayor David Retterer has called a meeting of village officials and civic leaders to hear the recommendations of a class of engineering students enrolled in EPIC, which stands for Engineering Projects in Community Service.

The team will present the results of its work at 3 p.m. on Monday, April  11, in room 207 of Biggs Engineering Building. The report will include information, such as:
