Delores Howard 1934-2015

Dolores A. Howard, 81, died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at 8:42 p.m. at Cridersville Healthcare Center, Cridersville.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1934, in LaFayette, Ohio to John and Audrey (Kollars) Hattery, Sr. who preceded her in death. Dolores married Dayton Howard on June 5, 1960, and he survives in Cridersville.

Dolores was a homemaker. She attended the Lima Baptist Temple.

Also surviving are three brothers: John (Joyce) Hatter, Jr. of Bluffton, Mike (Shari) Hattery of Cridersville and Larry (Beverly) Hattery of Utica; and a sister, Mariam (Bill) Sayre of Kenna, W.V.

Lloyd "Walt" Early was a 1941 Ada High School graduate

Lloyd "Walt" Early, 93, of Jenera, died on Thursday at the Good Samaritan Home in Arlington. Walt was born on Aug., 7, 1922 in Allen County to the late Schuyler C. and Josephine L. (Bundy) Early. He was married to Marilyn W. Betz, Marjory E. Robbins and Betty A. VanDeventer and they all have preceded him in death.

On Nov. 4, 1995 he married Carolyn E. Woodward and she survives.  Walt was a graduate of Ada High School in 1941. Walt was a U.S. Army veteran as a PFC in the 99th Infantry, Air Cadet in the 78th Infantry Division during WWII, seeing combat in several battles including the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland, Ramagen, Bridge, Ruhr Pocket and Colonge Plains.

Joyce Moore 1935-2015

Joyce R. Moore, 79, died on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at 5:45 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.          

She was born on Dec. 26, 1935, in Lima, Ohio, to William D. and Fern (Ludwig) May who preceded her in death. On Nov. 17, 1979, she married Larry Scott Moore who survives in Ada.        

Joyce retired from Honda of Marysville after working for 11 years as a nurse. She previously worked at Cambridge State Hospital and several local nursing homes.   

Also surviving is a daughter, Debra (Nick) DeFalco of Freehale, NJ and two grandchildren.      There will be no services it was her wish to be cremated.       

Elsie Tressel was the first female sheriff deputy in Hardin County

Elsie Mae Hubbell Tressel died on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Richland Manor. Elsie was born July 17, 1921, to the late Sam and LaVonne Rowles Hubbell on the family farm in Ada. 

She married Kenneth D. Tressel on March 15, 1941, in Hattiesburg, Miss., while Ken was serving in the Army. They lived in Ada for the next 62 years until Ken died in 2002.  She was at the family home in Ada until October of 2015.   

Marie Wright was previously a cook at ONU

Marie O. (Nichols) Wright, 82, died on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at 7:37 a.m. at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.     
     
She was born on March 13, 1933, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Dean and Easter (Ison) Irwin who preceded her in death. Marie was previously married to Willie Nichols on Dec. 7, 1954 and he died April 15, 1982. She later married Claud Wright on April 18, 2009 and he is deceased.         

Joint funeral service for James and Donna Klingler

NOTE: James Klingler died on Dec. 8. His wife, Donna, died on Dec. 7. Click here for her obituary. Joint visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

James Howe Klingler, 86, died Dec. 8, 2015, at his residence. James was born May 18, 1929, in Hancock County, Ohio to the late John Henry and Marie (Pratt) Klingler.  On March 11, 1951, he married Donna June Gossard who preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2015.
