Bulldog CC competes at district meet

Four Ada cross country runners completed their season by competing in the Div. III district 2 meet at Columbus Grove Saturday, October 23.

Bulldog senior Riley Ferguson paced the Ada boys by coming home 43rd in a time of 20:59.5. It was his final race for the purple and gold.

Freshman Kaleb Couch crossed the finish line 53rd in 22:08.8.

Junior Tristen Dalton ended up in 62nd place with a time of 27:30.3.

"The kids ran well," said veteran Bulldog head coach Josh Klein. "The Bulldogs ran hard. All of the boys I believe ran season-best times."

Bulldogs fall to Mustangs in finale

Ada fought hard in their Friday, October 22, home game but lost 49-6 to backyard rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference and regular season finale at War Memorial Stadium.

A fired-up Bulldog squad hung close into the second half. 

Trailing 21-6 in the third period, Ada was stopped on fourth and one at their own 41 on a big play. AE scored two plays later and went on to pull away and outscore the purple and gold 28-0 after intermission.

The Bulldogs fell to 1-9 and finished 0-7 in the NWC with the defeat.

AE improved to 7-3 and 5-2 in the NWC with the win, good for third place.

Ada boys soccer wins sectional 1st rounder; Conley scores three

The host Ada boys soccer team eliminated Elmore Woodmore in the Div. III sectional semifinals 5-2 on a warm Wednesday evening, October 20, at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada, seeded sixth, improved to 7-7-3 with its third straight win. 

Ninth-seeded Woodmore finishes its season 3-12-2 following the loss. 

Lady Bulldogs blanked by Cory in soccer sectionals

The Ada girls soccer team lost 7-0 at Cory-Rawson in Div. III sectional tournament first round play Tuesday evening, October 19.

The Lady Bulldogs end their season 2-12-1 after the defeat.

Eighth-seeded C-R improved to 5-10-1 with the shutout win. The Hornet girls advance to the second round at top-seeded Liberty-Benton October 21 at 6 p.m.

The Hornets led 3-0 at halftime, and tallied four more scores after intermission.

Ada girls ousted by CG in Bulldog spike battle

The Ada volleyball team battled hard but lost at conference rival Columbus Grove in Div. IV sectional first round tournament play Tuesday night, October 19.

The purple and gold Lady Bulldogs finished the season 2-19 after the 25-20, 25-18, 25-9 defeat.

Grove improved to 8-13 and advanced to the second round of the tournament with the win. Fifth-seeded CG will play at fourth seed Pandora-Gilboa Oct. 21.

Junior Courtney Sumner hit four kills, served one ace and came up with eight digs to lead Ada. Senior Lexi White hustled up a team-high 18 digs. 

Sophomore Daicy Robinson knocked down four kills. Senior Selena Jordan contributed three kills. 

Five Bulldog boys voted All-NCOSA

In voting by boys soccer coaches, five Ada High School players were selected for honors by the North Central Ohio Soccer Association (NCOSA).

Ada senior midfielder Isaac Williams and senior defender Tyler Jameson were voted second team All-NCOSA.

Bulldog junior defender Brendan Jameson, junior forward Carter Conley and junior midfielder Ethan Murphy all were named honorable mention All-NCOSA.

Jordan Fredrick of league champion Van Buren (5-0) was voted NCOSA boys Player of the Year.

Jeff Swaisgood was named boys NCOSA Coach of the Year.
