Three-peat Bulldogs

It's a three-peat for the Ada High School volleyball team. This is the third consecutive Northwest Conference title won by the team. A story by Cort Reynolds tells how it took place on Tuesday night at Columbus Grove.

ADA - The host Ada boys soccer team nipped backyard rival Allen East 4-3
in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening.

The Bulldog record improved to 11-4 and 4-1 in the NWC after their fourth
consecutives win. AE fell to 3-7-1 and 2-1-1 in the league with the
defeat.

Chris Reyes netted three goals and passed put one assist to pace the victors.

Loga Williams scored the other Ada goal and dished out an assist while Ace
Gamble made two saves in goal.

Wind Orchestra to perform Oct. 22

The ONU Wind Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. on  Sunday, Oct. 22 in the Freed Center..

Thomas Hunt, professor of music, will conduct this opening concert. The first half of the program will feature “Vision Fanfare” by American composer Eric Knechtges, “Musica Boema” by Czech composer Zdenek Lukas, “Overture for Band” by German composer Felix Mendelssohn, “October” by American composer Eric Whitacre, and “March of the Belgian Parachutists” by Belgian composer Pierre Leemans.

The second half of the program will feature “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky.

Women's soccer now at 9 straight wins

The No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's soccer team ran its winning streak to nine matches with a 5-1 victory at Heidelberg on Tuesday afternoon at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-1-1 overall and stay on top of the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 4-0-0 record, while the Student Princes fall to 7-6-1, 1-3-0.

Northern is now 10-0-1 in its last 11 matches.

Senior Abbey Oswald (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford), junior Sarah Puntel (Strongsville) and freshman Sydney Leshnak (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame), senior Rose Nienaber(Cincinnati/Oak Hills) and freshman Siena Ward (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) all scored goals for ONU.

ONU volleyball now 18-4

No. 21-ranked Ohio Northern held off a spirited Heidelberg squad 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21 in an Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday night in Tiffin.

The Polar Bears improve to 18-4 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, while the Student Princes fall to 10-11, 2-2.

Sophomores McKenna Jordan (Toledo/Saint Ursula), Sydney Bapst (Grove City) and Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) senior Haley Potters (Wheelersburg/South Webster) led ONU with 17, 16, 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Freshman Katie Wade (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) dished out 55 assists and sophomore Kristin Langston (Versailles) had a team-best 23 digs for Ohio Northern.
