What's happening in Ada in February and March?

It takes six pages of single-spaced type to answer this question. Events begin with Saturday's first-ever Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival and continues to a March 30 art program at the the Ada Public Library.

The calendar includes events from the community, schools, ONU, The Freed Center, The Inn at ONU, public meetings, village services schedule and the Ada Public Library.

Tommy Tires Sales expands with truck and tractor division

Specializing in one-half and three-quarter ton trucks; now TYM Tractor dealership

Tommy Tire Sales of Ada launched a truck and tractor sales division this month, according to Tom Dotson, owner.

The division is located in Ada, at the intersection of State Route 235 and 309.

“We will offer hand-selected one-half and three-quarter ton used trucks,” he said. “Our venture into truck sales compliments our tire sales. We are a totally retail-oriented business and are ready to service local customers in each of our vehicle-related ventures.”

Ever take a gander at Ada, Ohio videos on YouTube? You might describe the collection of short clips as crazy, eclectic, or down right homey.
Some show historical pictures of people and places. Maybe you'd enjoy watching a three-minute vid of a train blowing through Ada. There are plenty of videos of Wilson's. How about a time lapse of Ada at night, or the sad scene of the United Methodist Church burning to the ground? Like to see squirrels at play in Ada. Is their play in Ada any different than anywhere else?

February jewelry fundraiser tickets on sale

Ada Academic and Music Booster event

The fifth annual Ada Academic and Music Boosters purse and jewelry fundraiser will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, in McIntosh Center. Admission tickets are $25 presale or $30 at the door.

Admission tickets include a bingo card and paddle, hors d'oeuvres and beverages, 15 bingo games for purses, quarter auctions, live auctions, raffle gifts, a wristlets game with $100 cash to the winner and a Bulldog Bundle full of gift cards from area businesses.

Tickets may be purchased by contacting a Booster officer or Tracie Amburgey at (419)235-8162.  Table of 8 may be reserved when purchased together.  Seating is limited to 300 guests. Ballroom doors open at 1:00 p.m.

Ada Public Library annual chocolate bake off

The Ada Public Library fifth annual chocolate bake off will be 6 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 9, at the library. Plan to enter the contest. Free and open to all. Not a baker? You are invited to indulge in the chocolate goodies anyway.

Juniors Evan Morgan and Brad Taton lead Wrestling at Pete Wilson Wheaton Invitational

WHEATON, Ill. – The Ohio Northern wrestling team competed in the storied Pete Wilson Invitational at Wheaton (Ill.) College this weekend.

This invitational consists of 34 teams from across the country and is the second largest and oldest small-college wrestling tournament in the nation. 

The Polar Bears were led by juniors Evan Morgan (Cincinnati/ Elder) and Brad Taton (Mentor/ Lake Catholic) who placed 6th and 8th in their weight classes, respectively.
