Auctions have been popular for many years in the Ada area.

Here, buyers look for bargains on Saturday in the yard of the late Richard Elwood, 422 Grand, across from the school.

This auction, which drew mostly men, was called by Charles Wynegar of Bear Realty in Kenton.

15 minutes with a true railroad fan - Jim Sexton

By Monty Siekerman

15 with Jim Sexton...

Why do you video tape trains coming through Ada at the Railroad Depot Park?
I've always been interested in trains, ever since growing up in Ada. I now live in Bluffton?

What do you do with the tapes?
I edit them and put then online for others to see.

Who watches the tapes?
Train enthusiasts. There are clubs and individuals who are interested in seeing the videos. We view, and sometimes share, tapes we have taken.

There's lots of slippin' and slidin' going on in the park this summer

It's slippin' and slidin' at Ada War Memorial Park on Fridays. That's when ReStore sponsors Water Day from noon to 1 p.m. There's a free pizza lunch and activities. Other food and activities are held at that same hour and place Monday through Thursday until school begins. All are welcome. (Monty Siekerman photo)
