The Ohio Northern Women's Swimming & Diving team split a tri-meet Friday night, defeating Olivet (Mich.) 147-84 and falling to NCAA Division II Hillsdale (Mich.) 141.5-90.5, in Hillsdale's McAvoy Natatorium. The Polar Bears move to 2-2 on the season.

Ohio Northern senior Amy Elmer took first place in the 1 meter diving contest, posting a score of 221.20 points.

Junior Jennifer Hartsel earned first place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a final time of 1:14.10.

The team of junior Rachel Aufdenkampe, freshman Abigail Barlage, senior Sarah Fiffick, and sophomore Ashley Zoeller finished in first place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.82.

Junior Jordan Breitigam and freshman Jacob Croasdale each won twice to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team to a 164-72 victory over Olivet (Mich.) Friday night at Hillsdale's McAvoy Natatorium.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-0, while the Comets fall to 0-3. ONU won 10 of the 13 events to remain undefeated on the season.

Breitigam won the 200 I.M. in 2:01.70 and won the 100 fly in :52.37. Croasdale swept the distance free events, winning the 500 free in 5:04.30 and the 1,000 free in 10:17.32.
Junior Christian Garlock won the 50 free in :22.38 and junior John Beaschler won the 100 free in :48.91 as the Polar Bears swept with free sprints.

No. 30 ranked Ohio Northern finished seventh of 33 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (104-28) finished with 247 points.

Senior All-American Alison Steinbrunner won the individual title and broke her own school record in the process, winning the race in 21 minutes. Senior Lydia Weaver also earned All-Region honors by finishing eighth out of 234 runners in 21:58.

Both Steinbrunner and Weaver will participate as individuals in next Saturday's NCAA III Championships at Terre Haute, Ind.

The No. 5 Ohio Northern men's soccer advanced the Third Round of the NCAA III Tournament with a 3-1 victory over No. 6 Carnegie Mellon Saturday evening at the MCU Soccer Field. The Polar Bears improve to 22-2-0 on the year, while the Tartans finish their season at 13-4-1.

Northern will face No. 10 Susquehanna (Pa.) in the Third Round at a site and time that will be announced Monday.

The Tartans had the first chance of the evening in the 12th minute, when John Crawshaw headed a cross that sailed wide. CMU struck first at the 19:54 mark when Chris Wysocki took a pass from Matt Sarett and buried it in the upper left corner.

Senior goalie Mac Church recorded his school recorded 15th shutout of the season to lead the No. 5 Ohio Northern men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Thomas More (Ky.) in the First Round of the NCAA III Tournament Saturday evening at the CMU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears now stand at 21-2-0 on the season, while the Saints wrap up their season at 13-4-4. ONU advances to the second round where they will play No. 6 Carnegie Mellon at 5 pm on Sunday.

Junior goalkeeper Kimmy Connor stopped two shots in penalty kicks as the Ohio Northern women's soccer team tied RIT (N.Y.) 1-1 but advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament 4-2 on penalty kicks, Saturday afternoon at the CMU Soccer Field.
The Polar Bears now improve to 13-4-5 on the season, while the Tigers conclude their season at 11-5-3.

ONU advances to the second round and will face No. 17 Carnegie Mellon tomorrow at 1:30 pm.

Ohio Northern finished seven of 37 teams with 321 points at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional men's Cross Country Championships Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears end their season with a 110-30 record.

Junior Mark Berton led ONU with a 21st place finish out of 256 runners in 25:49.
Sophomore Nathan Rosenbaum, junior Evan McKee, junior Tyler Feitshans and junior Mathew Johnson finished in a tight pack.

Rosenbaum was 72nd in 26:39, McKee was 73rd in 26:39, Feitshans was 76th in 26:40 and Johnson was 79th in 26:44.

Williams Jones of Franciscan won the individual title in 24:26.

The Ada Theatre has officially gone digital!

This means the theatre has many more capabilities and endless ideas on the way for movie-goers. Some capabilities include, 3D technology, the ability to play DVDs, faster and easier obtainment of a movie and higher definition.

James and Sheri Curlis, who bought the theatre about a year ago, are very excited about this new technology.

Senior Tate Humphrey completed 19-of-34 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns but Ohio Northern fell 24-13 at Otterbein Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in the 2012 season finale for both teams.

The Polar Bears end their season with a 4-6 record and are 4-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals finish up 8-2, 7-2.

senior Carter Paul carried the ball 18 times for 77 yards and senior Justin Wilson caught eight passes for a career-high 138 yards and two scores for ONU.

Ben Sizemore completed 6 of 14 passing for 107 yards and a TD for OU.
