They say it takes a village! The Ada Library had a great turnout for their Summer Reading Kick-Off on Saturday; in just 4 hours we had over 250 people stop by our Summer Kick-Off, and 195 people (Birth-Adult) sign-up for Summer Reading!

This is the first year we're including people of all ages and we were overwhelmed by the response and excitement of our patrons! Sign-up continues all throughout the program.

While there are events everyday Monday-Friday at the Library, some really exciting events on our near horizon are:

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes held their 5th meeting on Mnday, June 3 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  Grant Hites brought the meeting to order with Paytin Pore leading the 4-h pledge and Grant Hites leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call included 47 members, 10 advisors, and 7 guests.

This meeting was the Quality Assurance meeting where all livestock members were present. Non-livestock members had a project study session. The focal point of this meeting was watering your animals.

Ada Girl Scouts have big summer plans.  Hardin County Girl Scouts are taking part in the GSWO Community Challenge & Change Project, which is a USDA grant funded program that asks the girls to develop a project that addresses a community need.

The girls have determined that Ada kids need more activities that encourage healthy lifestyles, promote creative learning, and role model good decision making. They designed an idea for a children’s program that would take place at the park.

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance has provided the Icon with this fun filled calendar of events for June and into the summer.  All this information and more can also be found at www.hardinohio.org .
