Here's the list of events taking place in Hardin County this week from the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.

Bowling Season Begins
Leagues are forming now, meetings will be held the first week in August. Contact Hillcrest Lanes at 419.675.6214 for more information about the upcoming Bowling Season.

The Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance and the Buy Local First Committee announced the first cash mob will take place at Belly Acre, 450 S. Main St., Mt. Victory from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The Belly Acre will be offering a special, buy one milk shake any size and get the second shake the same size for $1.00. Drawing more attention to the mob, the Buy Local First Hardin County Committee will be handing out information on the benefits of buying local.

“Refuse To Be A Victim,” a nationally recognized crime prevention course to be held in Findlay on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

This course provides practical information geared toward awareness and avoidance of criminal attack.

The program of the National Rifle Association will be held from 5:30 – 9 p.m. in the Ruse Board room located on the second floor of the William E. Ruse building at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 South Main St., Findlay.

Richland Manor celebrates Dog Days of Summer at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15. Everyone with a dog is invited to attend. Dogs will compete in different categories. The event will have games and other fun activities.

Ohio Northern University’s Department of Education and the Center for Teacher Education will present “The Heart of a Teacher” in the forum of James F. Dicke Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and a reception will follow in the atrium of Dicke Hall.
Guest speakers Stephanie Carr, a 2005 ONU graduate, and Joe Virant, a 2003 ONU graduate, will speak on their personal experiences and focus on “taking a hand, opening a mind and touching a heart.” The purpose of the event is to engage and inspire prospective students, teacher candidates, local educators and ONU faculty.

Aug. 5: Busing Parent Meeting
Mr. Lenhart, maintenance/transportation supervisor, will be available on Monday, Aug. 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria to answer transportation questions and explain the new bus routes.  Please enter through the south doors, door 12.

The Ohio Northern University exercise physiology program has been re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

ONU is one of only 37 undergraduate exercise science programs in the nation and one of only three programs in Ohio to be accredited by CAAHEP. ONU is one of the few traditional undergraduate institutions without a graduate program in exercise physiology to receive this honor and the only private, liberal arts institution in Ohio to receive this accreditation.

The Smurfs 2 (PG) is showing at the Ada Theatre from Wednesday, July 31 through Tuesday, August 13.

Showtimes include:

Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. and 9:10 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Daily at 7 p.m.

The 1:30 and 7 p.m. shows are 2D and tickest are $4.00.
