KENTON - The Ada swim teams lost a dual meet at local rival Kenton in the Hardin County YMCA Tuesday night.
"We had a lot of good swims, and performed very well at the meet," noted first-year Bulldog head coach Stephanie Steiner.
The purple and gold girls lost a close meet to Kenton 80-71, while the Bulldog boys lost to the Wildcats, 102-46. Kenton won the combined event, 182-117.
Ada junior ace Klava Katayama captured first in the 200 freestyle and 100-yard butterfly races.
According to 2018 records of the Ada Food Pantry, use has declined over the past four years, and the pantry board considers that to be a positive sign for the community.

Eight community groups compete in this year’s Ada Rotary Club bowling fundraiser Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Norada Lanes.
Named in memory of its originator, the Kevin Mierzejewski Super Bowl, on the Tuesday after the football game of similar name, eight community teams face off for an evening of fun competition.

Cleveland Indians Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio and Indians’ radio announcer Jim Rosenhaus will conduct a question-and-answer session from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Forum of James F. Dicke Hall at Ohio Northern University.
DiBiasio, who has been with the Indians for more than 30 years and is the brother of ONU President Dan DiBiasio, and Rosenhaus, who has been broadcasting the Indians since 2007, will discuss their respective roles with the Cleveland Indians as well as the current state of the team.
Ada High School will host a College Credit Plus meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the school auditorium, according to Erinn Prater, school counselor.
The program is for parents and students at Ada junior high and high school. Persons wanting additional information should contact Prater at 418-634-2746, or Dan Lee, high school principal.
Those unable to attend the Feb. 13 meeting can attend an area-wide meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, in Reed Hall at Ohio State University Lima Campus.
