As the seasons change and flu season approaches, healthcare providers and public health experts strongly encourage individuals to get annual flu shots. Despite ongoing awareness campaigns, many hesitate due to lingering myths or misunderstandings. The truth is, getting a flu shot is one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect your health and those around you.

I have submitted several historical pieces to the Icon, and I completed a project recently that I thought might be of interest. I moved an old horse shed from the two-hundred block of South Simon St. to our property on West Lima Ave and restored it for storage.

I was driving down South Simon St, and I noticed an old, sad-looking shed/garage on the back of a vacant lot. I assumed that whoever owned it would be glad to see it gone, so I investigated and located the owner, who, as I expected, was happy to sell it to me for a dollar.

The following results are from September 5-11 of the Ohio Northern University 2025 athletics season as reported on www.ONUSports.com:

SEPTEMBER 5

SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE__Rainfall totals across the county were disappointingly low in the month of August.

Crops are drying down rapidly in some areas of the county which means harvesting equipment will be seen on the roads. Please remember to be patient on roadways and remember to share the road so everyone can return home safely to their families.

SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE__The United Way of Hardin County is proud to announce the official renaming of its beloved annual fundraiser as the "Linda Garmon Memorial Mini Football Drop" in honor of long-time supporter and community champion, Linda Garmon.
