The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, February 18 at 8:30 a.m. at Beatitudes Community Center:

DISCOUNTED PRICING

  • Single Pass: $60.00
  • Family Pass: $200.00 (2 adults, 3 children)
  • Up to 4 additional children may be added to the family pass at $15.00/per add’l child
  • Lap Punch Card: 10 laps for $10.00 with one lap free. Must be purchased in advance will not be available after May 24, 2024

Prices after April 30, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

Pool pass sales end on June 12.

Officer Penny will be the bingo caller. Prizes will be awarded.

FROM FACEBOOK__Students and parents interested in College Credit Plus for the 2026–27 school year should attend an information meeting on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ada Schools auditorium.

This meeting is required for students participating in CCP for the first time. If you cannot attend, paperwork and a required video will be available after the meeting.

ADA__The Ada High School boys basketball team lost 58-51 to visiting non-conference foe Fort Jennings in a makeup contest on Tuesday, February 10.

The Bulldogs trailed 18-13 after the first quarter, but Ada clawed back in front after a 13-7 second period to lead by one point at halftime.

Ada consolidated its lead with a 16-13 third stanza to stay ahead 42-38 heading into the decisive final period.

But FJ exploded for a 20-9 fourth quarter to win by seven. Musketeer senior guard Calvin Menke sank nine of his 10 foul shots in the final stanza and tallied a game-high 25 points to torpedo the Bulldogs.

Catching water on the fly! The Pennsylvania Railroad Co. was a leading railroad that provided water for its high-speed passenger trains on the fly using water troughs (a.k.a. track pans).

Dola, Ohio, had a coal tipple and water tower to replenish the freight trains that came through. But for passenger trains, the aim was to keep them on schedule without having to stop for water. Tremendous amounts of water were used by steam engines.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteers will host their annual Spring Seminar on March 12, 2026, with the theme, Loves Me, Loves Me Not. The program will take place at Memorial Park Golf Club located at 15906 State Route 309, Kenton, OH 43326. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30  p.m. . The registration deadline is March 5, and the class size is limited. The cost to attend is $50.00 for the general public and $40.00 for OSU Master Gardener Volunteers. The cost includes a continental breakfast, lunch, session materials, and door prizes.

MEDIA RELEASE__Ohio has selected nine public safety agencies to participate in the Ohio Statewide Drone First Responder (DFR) Pilot Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to expand rapid aerial response capabilities across communities of all sizes. The Lima Police Department is among the agencies selected.

MEDIA RELEASE__Apollo Career Center is proud to host the 2026 SkillsUSA Ohio Northwest Regional Competitions on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-2:30  p.m. 

The Apollo campus will welcome approximately 500 students representing 20 career-technical education centers and comprehensive high schools from across Northwest Ohio. A total of 33 skilled competitions will take place throughout the day, showcasing students’ talents in technical, leadership, and employability skill areas.
