LEIPSIC__The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team raced to a big early lead and dominated Leipsic 71-37 in a Blanchard Valley Conference mismatch to end the regular season strong on Friday, February 20.
The Bulldogs jumped ahead 24-10 after the first period as senior Gavin Oldfield pumped in eight points. Blake Zoladz added seven markers.
Ada senior Zack Zimmerman poured in 14 of his game-high 25 points in the first half. For the game, he sank four triples and 10 field goals. Zimmerman tallied nine points in the second quarter as Ada ballooned their lead to 42-16 at halftime.
The Ada Council held a regular meeting on the evening of Tuesday, February 17 with all members present and Mayor Dave Retterer presiding. No ordinances or resolutions were on the agenda. The meeting packet is HERE.
PUBLIC COMMENT
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Ada Resident Doyle Long relayed concerns about traffic safety. One concern was the need for more designated crosswalks, especially at intersections and near the Ohio Northern University campus.
MEDIA RELEASE__St. Mark Lutheran, located at the corner of Lincoln and Johnson in Ada, will again attempt to start up their community meals, weather permitting, on Wednesday, February 25, from 5:00 to 6:30, or whenever we run out.
The meal is free and open to the public. This month's menu consist of ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, fruit, and a cookie.
You may dine in, carry out, or drive up for curbside service. If you require more than 8 meals per vehicle or carry out, please call 419-792-0911 by noon on Monday.
HARROD__The Ada High School girls basketball team battled backyard rival Allen East to the wire in Div. VI Northwest 5 sectional final play before losing 41-38 on Thursday, February 19 in Harrod.
AE took control of a close game at halftime behind a 13-6 third quarter where the Mustangs nailed three consecutive trifectas. After falling behind by 12 points in the fourth period, the Bulldogs rallied late but came up just short.
AKRON__Senior Selby Wilt (Findlay) won the 50-yard free title to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team on the second day at the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday.

Pulling season will be here before you know it. we have been working very hard meeting with promoters and local fairboards trying to get our events line up for the year; with that being said, we have our schedule for the 2026 pulling season.
