All are invited to attend. The United Way will share 2025-2026 campaign successes and celebrate partners and volunteers.

MAY 2 MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Democratic Party believes that our community members’ concerns are too frequently overlooked or ignored. The party would like to hear from you about the issues that are affecting you and our community. To gather your thoughts, the party will host three listening events.

ADA__It took two days, but the Ada High School softball team defeated visiting Riverdale convincingly 11-1 in the resumption of their Blanchard Valley Conference contest on a chilly Saturday, May 2.

The Bulldogs led the Falcons 5-0 in the second inning on Monday, April 27, when the game was halted by rain and thunder.

After the re-start, Ada pushed six runs across the plate in the home fourth to build a commanding 11-0 lead. The Bulldogs slugged three RBI doubles in the fourth frame to blow the game wide open. 

Sophomore shortstop Emily Shanks doubled home a run, followed by a run-scoring single from Sophie Fleming.

VAN BUREN – The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 4-2 to Blanchard Valley Conference rival Van Buren in a resumed game on Saturday, May 2.

The contest was suspended from April 22.

The Bulldogs plated two runs in the top of the second inning, but VB matched it with two scores in the home half of the second. 

The Black Knights tallied single runs in the fourth and fifth frames and held Ada scoreless over the final five innings to win.  

Ada dropped to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in the BVC after the defeat.

VB improved to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in BVC play with the win.

Pandora-Gilboa defeated the Upper Scioto Valley baseball team 6-5 on Saturday, May 2, in a nonconference game. Upper Scioto Valley will be back in action on Monday when we travel to Cory-Rawson.

MAY 1 MEDIA RELEASE__With the return of warmer weather, drivers are beginning to see a larger number of motorcycles on roadways across Ohio. To ensure everyone makes it home safely, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is urging both motorists and riders to stay alert, share the road and always drive sober.

“By staying mindful of your surroundings and choosing to drive responsibly, you can help make the roads safer for everyone," said Governor Mike DeWine.

Hickman wins 2 races

McGUFFEY__The Ada High School boys and girls track and field teams each finished a solid fourth at the 10-team Upper Scioto Valley Ram Invitational meet on Thursday, April 30.

Pandora-Gilboa won the boys team title with 143 points, while Riverdale came in second (124.5). McComb edged out the Bulldog boys for second place, 89-87.

Riverdale easily captured the girls team crown with 171 points. Delphos Jefferson finished a distant second with 79.5 points, followed by P-G (66) and Ada (54).

The host USV boys finished ninth (21), while the Rams girls (22) came in 10th.
