Downtown Ada businesses are all dressed up in their seasonal finery for the November 20 Third Thursday event promoted by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce. Participating businesses will have additional hours from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The Chamber invites you to "shop, stroll and give thanks!"
Village of Ada prepares to host National Night Out events

The Village of Ada Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 18, with Council President Bob Simmons presiding. Mayor David Retterer was present at the meeting. The meeting packet is HERE.
RESOLUTIONS
Council established a new fund for National Night Out, allowing the Ada Police Department to receive donations and establish an Ada National Night Out event. Such events are held in many communities across the United States on the second Tuesday of August to allow first responders to connect with the communities they serve on a non-emergency basis.
ORDINANCE
Council approved the second reading of an ordinance establishing annual appropriations for 2026.

Both Icons have experience intermittent server problems beginning on the morning of Tuesday, November 18, due to a widespread outage impacting many online services.
The November 19 membership meeting for the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will be devoted to decorating the Depot at Ada's Depot Park. At 8:30 a.m., participants will help the Village of Ada prepare for the holiday season by setting up Christmas lights.
Director Lindsay Hollar explains, "This is a quick and easy way to give back to our community while spending time with fellow members and spreading some festive cheer. We hope to see you there — many hands make light (and merry!) work!"
During my time as chaplain at Mennonite Memorial Home for 24 years, I met a number of residents who were veterans, mostly from World War II. I don't remember all their names, but I remember their stories.
