Lynne Scott's book signing Saturday at the library

Lynne Scott will have a book signing at the Ada Public Library from 11 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Dec.. 9. Her newest book titled "Tails from the Kennel: Truths Taught" will be available for $10. The book also is available on Amazon for $11.95.

The book describes some of the things that Lynne, a kennel owner, has learned from the dogs and how lessons they taught her can be applied to Scripture and everyday life.

Max Roberts: "Working with the fire department gives me a sense of belonging"

Missing the brotherhood he found in the military, Ohio Northern student Max Roberts discovered that bond as a volunteer firefighter with the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department.
 
“Working with the fire department has given me a sense of belonging,” said Roberts, a civil engineering student from Mansfield. “I am working with people who have similar experiences to my own, including military veterans and those from law enforcement.”
 

Do you have a favorite memory of Heterick Memorial Library? The library will celebrate its 50-year anniversary in 2018, and the librarians are busy planning a special celebration. To add to the festivities, they would love for you to share any memories you may have of Heterick through the years. Whether you remember carrying books over in 1968 or seeing the first-floor renovation in 2016, they want to know about it.

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team was ranked No. 8 in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll. Northern (20-2-2 overall) jumped from No. 14 to No. 8 after making a run to the Elite 8 round of the 2017 NCAA Div. III Women's Soccer Tournament.

Dr. John K. Estell, professor of computer engineering and computer science, is coauthor of the new book, "Engineering Design and the Product Life Cycle: Relating Customer Needs, Societal Values, Business Acumen, and Technical Fundamentals," published by Momentum Press. 

 

The book attempts to answer the question of “What is good design?” by exploring some of the fundamental principles associated with design. It also examines engineering design in a broader context through means of the product life cycle.
