The Center on Central and Hays Insurance were recognized as new businesses and business owners during the Town and Gown banquet on Monday in McIntosh Center.
JR and Linda Mason are owners of Center on Central event rental center. Ada Lions Club and Ada Music Boosters bingo meet there regularly. It served as a polling place on Tuesday. It has hosted class reunions, wedding rehearsals and dinners, corporate Christmas parties as well as birthday, graduation, and retirement parties. Much work has been complete on renovating the inside and exterior. Kitchen facilities are top notch.
Tim Howard votes this morning at the Ada Depot. There are 1,180 voters in the Liberty Township precinct. For this election, Ada precincts A and B are voting at Community Health Professionals. The township precinct was seeing about 25 voters an hour during the morning. (Monty Siekerman photo)

Connie Fleming was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year at the 52nd Town and Gown banquet on Monday evening attended by about 200 people in McIntosh Center ballroom.
Connie is president of the Ada Library board which is now under going an $800,000 renovation and expansion.

She has been active in the Ada First United Methodist Church for many years and currently is chair of the financial committee.

Northern Nursing without Borders will return to the Dominican Republic for the ninth year, helping about 500 people in four remote villages near San Juan de la Maguana with health care that can make a big difference in how long they live and their quality of life.

Senior Grant Cayot (Roanoke, Ind./Blackhawk Christian) was named to the Ohio Athletic Conference All-Tournament team for his efforts during last weeks OAC Tournament.
Cayot, a back for ONU (12-6-2 overall), was the lone Polar Bear to make the team.
The senior started every game for Northern this season, including making a start in its tournament game against Marietta.
Cayot is an All-OAC honoree for Northern, earning Second Team All-OAC honors in 2016.
