Today, Wednesday, Nov. 1, law enforcement officers in Hardin County will begin keeping a keen eye on drivers, looking for all manor of violations during the month because six people have been killed on roads and highways here this year.
State highway patrol, sheriff's officers, Ada and Kenton police today will begin a Hardin County target enforcement of driving laws focusing on failure-to-yield, which caused 3 fatalities; seat-belt violations; and distracted driving, which occurs more now with texting.

The Ada Public Library enjoys special days, just like each of us, even when things get a little spooky. On Tuesday morning it was costume time for the library's youngest patrons. See the story by Monty Siekerman below for all the details.

News reports have mentioned Day of the Dead more often this year. Is this a new holiday coming to America? Can one really celebrate death? Even the local theatre now has "Happy Death Day" playing.
Not to be left behind, the ONU Latino Student Union held a celebration/ observance of Day of the Dead on Monday afternoon in Affinity Commons.
There were snacks and table decor that looked a lot like spooky Halloween decorations. Those who attended made papel picado, which are cutouts using tissue paper.
Plus, the uninitiated learned a little more about Day of the Dead.
