Meri Skilliter, Ada Schools superintendent, spoke at the Lions Club meeting on Wednesday. She discussed the need for passing the renewal levy in November to continue the remarkable education provided to students in the school district.

Dr. Jed Marquart, professor of mechanical engineering, was elected to the board of directors of the National Space Grant Foundation at the National Council of NASA Space Grant Directors fall meeting in Grand Forks

Marquart is the director of the Ohio Space Grant Foundation. The Foundation contributes to the nation’s science enterprise by funding research, education and public service projects through a national network of 52 university-based Space Grant consortia.

GRANVILLE — The No. 19-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team won its sixth straight match as it swept Denison on Tuesday evening at Livingston Gymnasium in Granville.

The Polar Bears improve to 15-3 overall with the victory, while the Big Red fall to 7-5.

Northern was led offensively by sophomore Sydney Bapst's (Grove City) 10 kills.

Sophomore Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) added nine kills, while senior Haley Potters (Wheelersburg/South Webster) and freshman Paige Hartings (Coldwater) chipped in eight kills each.
