ONU featured in The Princeton Review’s ‘The Best 378 Colleges: 2014 Edition’

Ohio Northern University is once again featured as one of the nation’s top schools in The Princeton Review’s annual college guide, “The Best 378 Colleges: 2014 Edition.” ONU also is one of the 153 institutions that The Princeton Review recommends in the “Best of the Midwest” section of its website feature, “2014 Best Colleges by Region.”

“We are pleased that this student survey again places ONU among the best universities in the country,” said Dr. Daniel A. DiBiasio, Ohio Northern University president. “This is reflective of the quality of our programs and personnel and the appreciation our students have for excellence.”

Holiday Spectacular children's auditions Sept. 15 at Freed Center

Ohio Northern University is holding children's auditions for the “Holiday Spectacular” on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4p.m. at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Ohio Northern University.

Looking for singers and dancers ranging in age from 5-12.

Children may be asked to sing and should be ready to participate in a dance call (jazz and/or
tap shoes).  No prepared dance or vocal solos, please.  Call (419) 772-1998).

Women's tennis to open 2013-14 season at St. Francis (Ind.)

The Ohio Northern women's tennis team will open its 2013-14 season on Sept. 11 at St. Francis (Ind.) at 3 pm.

The Polar Bears will also participate in the Oberlin Invitational on Sept. 13-15 and the ITA Central Region Championships from Sept. 20-22 in their fall season.

Northern opens its spring campaign on Feb. 1 with a visit to regional foe Kalamazoo (Mich.) at 9 am.

The Polar Bears will take on Eastern (Pa.) on Mar. 2, St. Benedict (Minn.) on Mar. 3 and Moravian (Pa.) on Mar. 4 on their annual Spring Break trip to Tampa, Fla.

The OAC season begins on Mar. 22 when Northern travels to Heidelberg for a 1 pm match.

Pew: Internet now leading news source for Americans under 50

 

It's not exactly a surprise, but now we have data. According to the Pew Research Center's biennial media attitudes survey, the internet is now the leading source of national and international news for Americans under age 50.

And the younger you are, the more likely you'll turn to the internet first for news.

Ada school superintendent explains changes in Ohio school performance ratings

The State of Ohio is changing the ways it measures and rates the performance of Ohio's schools and school districts.
