Thank you to Miss Daniels' 3rd-grade class at Ada Elementary for sharing their letters to Santa. There will be two more installments. Today we have letters from Lilly, Eastlyn, Noah, Decker, Lukeus, Carmine and Maverick.

BLOOMDALE__The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team used a big second half to defeat Blanchard Valley Conference foe Elmwood 41-36 on Thursday, December 18.

Ada outscored the Royals 27-16 in the second half to overcome a six-point intermission deficit. A 16-11 fourth quarter earned the purple and gold the road win.

The Bulldog girls rallied to win the third quarter 11-5 and tie it up 25-25 heading to the final stanza. Five different girls scored in the third period to pace the balanced Bulldogs.

Recap of Dec. 16 regular council meeting

The Village of Ada Council held its last regular meeting for 2025 on Tuesday, Dec. 16, with all members present and Mayor Dave Retterer presiding.

Council took action on three legislative items, including a resolution for the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Hardin County Commissioners for reimbursement to the County for indigent defense representation at the Hardin County Municipal Court. DEC. 18 MEDIA RELEASE__On November 24, 2025 Paula Dirmeyer came to the Ada Police Department to report that she had been assaulted within the Village of Ada by a known individual. Officers gathered information from her and began an investigation.

On November 27, officers were notified by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office that Paula had been found deceased in her rural Allen County home; her body was transported to Lucas County for a post-mortem exam.

This continues to be an ongoing investigation.
