Community Health Professionals will hold a Girls Day In from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday at their facility, 1200 S. Main. Proceeds will benefit CHP patient care fund. Tickets are $10.
About 8 to 10 vendors will be on hand, refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded every half hour. The grand prize is a roadside emergency kit. Women and girls of all ages are invited to attend.
Ohio Northern University’s long history of athletic prowess is about to enter a whole new era. Esports is the newest, fastest-growing trend to hit collegiate athletics, and ONU is excited to announce it will launch an official varsity esports team in fall semester 2019.
Esports, short for electronic sports, is competitive video gaming at the highest skill level and has become something of a world-wide phenomenon in the last decade or so, with professional gamers from across the globe competing for championships and prizes.
Ready, Set, Grow Preschool, 301 N. Main St., in the Ada First United Methodist Church, will host open houses on Friday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to noon and Monday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
New services at Ready, Set, Grow include extended hours Monday through Friday.
Families with children ages 3-5 can pick the hours they need between 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
After school care for children in grades K-5th will be provided from 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Preschool will continue to be provided from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The Ada Schools will have a renewal levy on the November ballot.
An organizational meeting of a group called Advancing Ada Schools will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, in the board room. Advancing Ada Schools has been formed to promote the levy. All are welcome to attend.

Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses and residents for its fifth annual Ada Community Engagement (ACE) Day to be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 18. Friday, Aug. 3, is the deadline to register.
A partnership with the village of Ada, the ACE Day program provides opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to not only engage with the community but also contribute to the village’s beautification.
An “ACE site” is any community organization, business or individual that has a need and would be willing to provide a service project for ONU students.
