MAY 30 FACEBOOK POST__From the Ada Police Department:

We would like to congratulate Officer Michael Bollinger on his well deserved retirement. Mike started with the Ada Police Department in 2000, and completed his last day of service on May 30 at 2 P.M. Thank you for your dedicated service to the residents of Ada.

Chance R. Watkins, age 29, of Alger, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by his family. 

He was born on January 31, 1996, in Lima, Ohio to Ralph Eugene and Kathy (Kindle) Watkins of Alger. 

Chance is survived by his brothers: Brandon (Karen) Watkins of Dunkirk, Blake (Chayden Pitzer) Watkins of Alger, Derek Watkins of Wapakoneta and Dustin Watkins of Lima. He had a deep unwavering love for his nephews: Connor Watkins, Zachery Watkins and Logan Watkins.  He is also survived by his niece, Presley Watkins, as well as his maternal grandmother, Juanita Kindle of Alger.

An electricity provider contract has been made for the Village of Ada aggregation program and residents who are not enrolled in a program were sent the attached May 23 letter from Dynegy on behalf of the Village.

The letter provides the contract rate and terms:

  • 9.45 cents per kWh
  • Term ends December 2026

Customers may choose to opt out of the aggregation program and are asked to notify Dynegy by June 13.
