School is coming to an end, and summer is quickly approaching. This is a time for our children to relax, recharge and explore new environments. While our children are looking forward to sleeping in and lazy days, all children do better with structure and routine, especially those who have a diagnosis such as ADHD, Autism and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, who depend on structure. Even as adults, our routine provides consistency and stability and builds healthy habits. While we cannot recreate the structure found in school, ensuring our children are involved in activities throughout the summer months will help them to grow in numerous ways.

The Ada Icon is looking for freelance content creators including photographers, content and calendar managers, feature and special event writers, public meetings primary and substitute reporters. COLUMBUS – Ada senior speedster Logan Jolliff finished 11th out of 18 sprinters in the preliminary heats of the Div. III state track and field meet at Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus on Friday, June 6.

Jolliff finished with a time of 11.207 to cross the finish line sixth in heat number two.

The top nine preliminary heats finishers made it to the finals Saturday. Jolliff missed state qualification by two places and less than .04.

Division III Boys 100-Meter Dash Prelims

Representing the Ada High School track and field team, senior Logan Jolliff ran in the OHSAA D3 state preliminaries in the100m dash, finishing with a time of 11.207 for 11th place.  The top nine runners qualified for the finals on June 7. Stay tuned for more coverage. PHOTO by Marvin Foster.

MEDIA RELEASE__The Ada VFW Post 9381 Annual Park in the Park car show will be July 12 at Ada War Memorial Park.

Registration is from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. Trophies will be awarded at 4:00 p.m. for $10 per vehicle.

The mini tank "Half Pint" will be shooting T-shirts. The venue is a shaded park with open shelter houses.
