Rural development specialist will address Ada CIC

Roberta Acosta, a rural development specialist from Toledo, will discuss the Hometown Cooperative grant during the noon Wednesday Ada Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) meeting according to Angela Polachek of the village. 

"A team of representatives from the Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) visited Ada on Aug. 26 to discuss the grant," said Polachek. Acosta will talk about the grant in greater detail during the CIC meeting.

The meeting is at noon in McIntosh Center on the Ohio Northern University campus. Agendas and CIC financial information will be available at the meeting.

The Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) provides consulting services to help rural communities address their drinking water and wastewater treatment needs.  

Each year, it serve well over 100 communities in Ohio and leverage millions of dollars for water and sewer projects. 

Its field agents assist communities with project development and capacity building. Ohio RCAP is part of the Great Lakes RCAP network, and receives funding from a number of federal programs as well as Ohio EPA and the Ohio Water Development Authority to provide technical assistance to communities under 10,000 population. 

Many of its client communities serve only a few hundred people, or are rural areas in need of public water or sewer service.
