College campuses aren’t quiet places in the summer.

ONU expects 6,000 people to attend camps and conferences here this summer. Sports camps and clinics include football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, track and field.

Conferences will draw people to campus for religious retreats and academics, as well. There will be orientation sessions for incoming students and their parents, and alumni weekend is just around the corner.

Alan Seibert, known as the Music Man, entertaines residents of Vancrest on Thursday morning. The Grover Hill man is a popular entertainer for the residents, performing at the retirement center every other month singing and playing his guitar, harmonica and drums.

Ohio Northern University will host its annual Alumni Weekend from Friday to Sunday, June 1-3.

The class of 1968 will have a special celebration dinner on June 1 for its 50-year class reunion. All other classes celebrating 55, 60, 65 and 70 years will have an opportunity to celebrate at the Alumni Association luncheon on June 2. Even if it is not a reunion year, alumni are encouraged to return to ONU from the classes of 1968 and earlier to celebrate ONU from their time as students.

While on campus, alumni may participate in special programs and events as well as connect with former classmates.
