Youngsters love a carnival and parents and teachers love one that encourages reading.
The Ada Academic Boosters sponsor a carnival each year in the '86 Gym, as they did on Friday for grades K-5. Children earn tickets by meeting reading goals, and can spend them on games, popcorn, raffle items and, a popular one, throwing a wet sponge at a teacher.
Parent volunteers help, led this year by cochair Amber Simon and Lori Poling.
