Helen M. Prater, age 77, died on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 8:20 p.m. at her residence in Mt Victory.
She was born on March 20, 1941 in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Joseph and Frances (Biederman) Dunson. On April 3, 1960 Helen married Eldon Prater and he survives in Mt. Victory.

Leaders of the newly-formed Ada Historical Society deemed the membership drive a success following a reception in the Railroad Depot and dinner at Viva Maria’s on Monday evening.
Those visiting the Depot saw a large collection of postcards gathered over the years by Lee Crouse (who happens to be one of the Ada Icon weekly columnists, as well). Lee’s postcards were displayed in large frames set on tripods.

The Area Agency on Aging in Lima has been teaching Ada seniors about balance to prevent falls and a few exercises are added into the mix. The two-hour “Matter of Balance” sessions will continue to meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at ReStore Community Center through May.
The 8-session course has been well attend with several members of the Ada Senior Citizens and Harold Cotsamire’s exercise class at the United Methodist Church joining the group at ReStore. The course is designed for anyone over 55 years of age. Another class is planned for later in the year.
Four area high school students received Liberty National Bank college scholarships, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, LNB president and chief executive officer.
Brandon Cox is a 2018 Miller City New Cleveland High School graduate. Brandon will be a freshman at The University of Akron this fall, majoring in Computer Engineering. He is the son of Craig and Heather Cox of Leipsic.
