DOLA - The Ada boys and girls track teams competed in the annual, 11-team Hardin Northern Invitational Saturday in Dola.

 

The Ada boys finished in a fourth-place tie while the Lady Bulldogs came in seventh. Tiffin Calvert took the boys team crown and Leipsic captured the girls title.

 

Ada sophomore Nora Dellifield won the girls pole vault to lead the Lady Bulldogs, clearing 9-6.

 

Junior Miguel Jordan took second in the 800 meter run to post the top Bulldog boys finish. The boys 3200 relay quartet also finished second.

ARLINGTON - The visiting Ada baseball team lost 6-0 and 10-4 at Arlington in a non-conference twinbill Saturday.

 

The Bulldogs fell to 3-8 overall with the defeats.

 

In the opener, Arlington broke up a scoreless game with two runs in the fourth. The Red Devils then put the game away with four more in the fifth.

 

The Devils out-hit Ada in the lidlifter, 10-5. Colten Shaffer, Aaron Everhart and Phillip Coulson each singled at the top of the Ada lineup.

 

Jaylin Burkhart and Bryce Paul added the other Bulldog singles. Everhart and Coulson each stole a base as well.

 

300 attend fun, flags and flavor event

An ONU multicultural fair provided fun, flags and flavors for the 300 people who attended the event in King-Horn on Friday night.

There was music, dancing, a cacophony of sounds plus flags from the many nations represented in the student body as well as foods made with recipes from around the world.
Students from 25 nation’s are represented in the student body this year.

Team signups planned in May

Sign-ups for the Ada Summer Swim Team will be held Wednesday, May 9, and Monday, May 14, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St.

Swimmers from ages 5 to 18 are invited to join the Ada Gators. The cost is $55/child, with a $5 credit for each additional family member. The fee gives one a pass to swim at the pool only during team practices. This cost includes one ad per family in the championship heat sheet. A $10 late fee will be assessed for those who register after May 28.

A representative from Poco Loco Swim Shop will be available at the first sign-up on May 9 for swim suit orders, caps and/or goggles. This is a new swim suit year.
