The last meeting of the Hardin Co Hootenannies 4-H club was held at Preston Brien’s farm. We had 12 members present. President Megan Williams opened the meeting and asked Seth Davis to lead us in the American Flag pledge and Meadow Cromer to lead the 4-H pledge.
We decided on the colors for our T-shirts. Everyone ordered their size. They will be $8. Which is due at our next meeting. We hope to have them by the end of July for the Triathlon. All members should have paid their club dues by now.
A reminder that judging for still projects is on July 14th. If any member missed our Quality Assurance at the previous meeting or the make-up date on June 12th, they can go to the Community Building of the Fair grounds Aug 7th from 10-11 am.
Laura Spradlin gave a very informational presentation on Dehorning livestock. She told why we do it, when to do it (age of the animal), various techniques of how to do it and how important it is to prevent infection.
Preston Brien gave a report on Safety around Lightening. He shared important information with us. Meadow Cromer and Dylan Beiler volunteered to give health and safety reports for next time.
Our next meeting will be on Sun June 29th at advisor Grant Mizek’s farm. Faith Holbrook will be bringing refreshments. Everyone is welcome to bring their fishing poles. Please bring lawn chairs.
