Color guard wins top honors; band 2nd at Maysville Invite

The Ada High School Marching Band competed in two competitions this past Saturday.

The band traveled to Columbus early Saturday morning to compete in the Buckeye Invitational at Ohio Stadium. Following this performance, the band packed everything up, headed to the mall for lunch (still in competition attire garnering a lot of stares) then traveled to Zanesville to compete in the Maysville High School Band Competition.

The band performed their show for a second time that day in stellar fashion. Many watching felt this performance was their best yet this season.

Once again, following their performance, the band packed up the equipment and headed back to OSU. The band returned to Ohio Stadium to watch the OSU Marching Band perform. The field commanders were given the opportunity to watch the performance from the press box at the Horseshow.

The band performed one of their half time shows from this season that was based on The Wizard of Oz. One of the most exciting highlights of the night was watching the band perform the iconic "Script Ohio." The field commanders were then led onto the field and were able to meet the director of the OSU band.

While the band did not place at the Buckeye Invitational, they did place second of six at Maysville, and the color guard once again received top honors in Class C competition.
