Getting to know Jamie Burger, owner of Ada’s new boutique
By Torie Wright
On Nov. 8, residents of Ada celebrated the grand opening of Simply Torn, a new shop on Main Street.

It was a warm welcome for Jamie Burger, who counted 150 tickets in the drawing she offered and completely sold out of scarves and fleece leggings by 1 p.m.
Burger is originally from Rockford, but now lives in Bath Township. She opened her first storefront in Ada because of our town’s small size, the university, and the fact that Ada was lacking a boutique of its own. I guess you could say we owe Burger thanks — now we can go shopping without leaving town!
Burger has been operating Simply Torn for about a year and half, but until the opening of this store was operating out of the basement of her home.
Simply Torn offers a variety of items such as clothing, accessories, denim, shoes, a children’s line, baby blankets and even furniture.
The boutique is open Mondays 11-6, Wednesdays 4-7, Fridays 11-6, and Saturdays 10-3.
You can find Simply Torn on Facebook, Wanelo, and Pinterest, as well as at www.simplytorn.com.
For more information, call 419-733-6604 or send an email to [email protected].
Fun fact: Burger has no previous retail experience; before founding Simply Torn, she was a surgical nurse. After giving birth to her daughter, she decided to stay home and wound up pursuing her passion for fashion.
