Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “Why Choose BVHS for Women’s Health?” virtual presentation, a part of the 2020 virtual “Live and Learn” Facebook Live series.

Dr. Allison Westcott, a physician with Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology and Sara Weihrauch, PA-C, physician assistant with Blanchard Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology, will co-host a livestream event. The topic will spotlight the services and care options provided by their experienced team. William Kose, MD, vice president of special projects, will serve as the event’s moderator.

Claude Stephen “Steve” Greer, 65, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at 5:47 p.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Claude and Vernice (Compton) Russell. His father preceded him death and his mother survives in Alger.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He ran a bait shop for several years and raised pheasant and quail for release.  Steve loved flea markets and yard sales. He had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit.  Steve was a born again Christian. He took tremendous pleasure and pride in his grandchildren.

Several additional Ada students were winners in this year's Hardin County Junior Fair, which concluded Sunday. 

The Icon previously announced that Ian Dellifield was the Junior Fair king runner-up, and Alyssa Wince was Ada's candidate for queen.

Monday at Community Health Professionals

Covid-19 hasn't stopped blood drives from taking place.

Ada's next American Red Cross blood drive is from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21, in the Community Health Professionals Ada Visiting Nurses conference room, 1200 S. Main St.

Hackworth said that there is a need for power red bood donors and she has four open time slots for these donors

4-tem NWC quad meet at Delphos

DELPHOS - The Ada golf team played in a four-team Northwest Conference quadrangular Monday at the Delphos Country Club.

Lincolnview won with 185 strokes, followed by host Delphos Jefferson (192), Crestview (216) and Ada (237).

Junior Andrew Rush led the Bulldogs with a nine-hole score of 55. Senior Jacob Morgan was second for Ada with a 59, followed by sophomore Geddes Klingler's round of 61. Junior southpaw Dexter Woods posted a 62 as the fourth scorer.

Freshman Jack Baumgartner added a 68 to complete the Ada effort.

Jefferson's Logan Gallmeier was match medalist with a score of 37 on the par-35 course.
