Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host a special Facebook Live on Wednesday, February 16 at noon, to discuss the current state of COVID-19 in our community.
Serving as hosts of the event will be William Kose, MD, vice president of special projects and Renee Smith, MD, chief medical officer.
The event will be streamed on the health system’s Facebook page, facebook.com/BlanchardValleyHealthSystem. Community members can “like” the corporate Facebook account of BVHS and visit the page to watch live.

Marian W. Johansen, age 82, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 11:38 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on January 25, 1940, in Titusville, Pennsylvania to the late Kenneth Orlo and Edith (Schneider) Willia.m.s, Sr. On August 25, 1962, Marian married Bruce E. Johansen and he survives in Harrod.
Marian is also survived by her three sons: David Johansen of Yellow Springs, Mark (Coleen) Johansen of Chillicothe, and Luke (Ashley) Johansen of Ada; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Williams, Jr. of St. Clairsville.

Ohio Northern University’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is again offering free income tax preparation for community members who make about $58,000 or less annually.
In turn, this service enables ONU’s Dicke College of Business Administration students to receive practical training with tax preparation software and interpersonal communication, and to become IRS-certified to help prepare basic and intermediate tax returns. Students also gain experience in identifying and helping clients claim special credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly, which can significantly influence filing outcomes.
