Dave Archer spoke at the Ada Memorial Day service at the VFW on Monday afternoon.
About 100 people attended the service sponsored by the Ada American Legion and Ada VFW.
Archer, a Marine who served in Vietnam, said Memorial Day is a mournful time in remembrance of our fallen warriors and encouraged the crowd to pray for the families and give them a comforting ear. He urged those in attendance to honor the memory of men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

The popular swimming and fishing pond and gardens located three miles north of Ada on State Route 235 has been sold by Monty Siekerman.
For the past 14 years, Cedar Cove has played host to numerous garden clubs, Bible studies, birthday parties, and weddings.
During a hot summer, the land has drawn more than 10,000 people for swimming, fishing, Frisbee, or just plain relaxing...all free to those who wanted to visit.
The garden contains more than 250 varieties of trees and shrubs. The property has been described by many as "a little piece of Heaven" and "peaceful."
